Lisa is a passionate and dedicated specialist APPI certified Pilates instructor at Pro-Active.
With a background in education, Lisa has always been committed to promoting and educating others to improve their health and wellbeing. Her journey into Pilates practice began as a personal quest for strength, flexibility, and balance following a horse-riding accident. It was the role Pilates played in her rehabilitation and having over 20 years of practice experience that led Lisa to undertake formal training with the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute (APPI).
The APPI Pilates method, rooted in physiotherapy, emphasises core stability and pelvic alignment and focuses on safe movement patterns, to support injury prevention and rehabilitation.
All 1:1 Pilates sessions are tailored to the needs of each client using the APPI Pilates method, taking into account any injuries or areas for rehabilitation and focus on the key fundamentals of Pilates, emphasising alignment, breath control, and core strength. Sessions are completely bespoke based on individuals needs and ability, ranging from beginners, or recovery from serious injuries, through to advanced practice and maintenance.
In addition to her Pilates certification, Lisa is committed to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest techniques and research. She enjoys collaborating with other health professionals at Pro-Active to ensure that her clients receive the best holistic care tailored to their individual needs.
When she’s not teaching, Lisa is also our Practice Administrator, and is kept busy by her two golden retrievers.
